Hey Guys,

I just wanted to welcome Stew back from NAMM 2009, and anybody else who attended...

Also, I wanted to share with you some music that I just downloaded off of Amazon.com's MP3 download service:

Nossa Trio - Vento Bravo
http://www.amazon.com/Vento-Bravo/dp/B0012A9J22/ref=sr_f3_1?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1232467871&sr=103-1

Marcos Amorin Trio - Cris On The Farm
http://www.amazon.com/Cris-On-the-Farm/dp/B0016O5HTS/ref=sr_f3_1?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1232468073&sr=103-1

These albums feature one of my favorite bassists Ney Conceição from Brazil...  I recommend that you download the albums...  Some of the most wonderful music I have heard lately...

Hope you are all well...

Tim

You're very welcome!  I'm a nice guy in real life...   Wink

I gotta give you a ring sometime to check in with you...

Oh, by the way, how was your trip to the dentist?

And yes, Ney is amazing...  I especially like his rendition of "Monica"...

It's cold out here...

Here's another one...  It's called "O Boto" off Marcos Amorim Trio's "Cris on the Farm" album...

Funny, it's only you and me talking on this thread...  I guess nobody's interested in talking about music...  I was talking with Yves last weekend, and he said that it's interesting on all these threads that all people want to talk about is gear...  Gear is really tools to make music, but the obsession of gear seems to have taken over the talking about, and or making of music...

So, I have 2 options right now...  Hang up my bass and concede that I will never play as well as Ney

or get to practicing...

Maybe I'll give you a ring at the shop today sometime...

it was great talking, man, even if it was just for a few minutes.

we'll have to do that again... and soon!

take it light and keep shedding: the more you play, the sooner you find your own voice!

Very cool man Afro................ now that my speakers work

The people who are obssesed with gear will go on to sell it and never play  and the people who play will go on to make great music.

Stew, nice talking to you too!  I'm practicing tonight with my band, so I'll see if the new stuff I was working on works for the next set of songs we will be recording...  I'll keep you posted...
