Well... the video has been made with a cheap camera so the quality isn't first rate (or second) but at least it gives an idea of how it sounds... glad you like it.  Smiley

Man, she sounds WONDERFUL!!

I am such a big fan of passive electronics.

If you don't mind me asking, what are you using for an amp/speaker combination?

And what are the strings?

I must get to your shop and become an annoyance!!

My amp is actually this rig: sfx sound M:D2 preamp/DI (www.sfxsound.co.uk), Behringer EP4000 power amp and my own 18"+tweeter cabinet (sealed, 99db/600w). The strings are the cheapest Warwick Red Label, 025-125 if I remember well. They're easy to find and it's useless to put expensive strings on a new bass as the owner already has his favorite brand/model and he's certainly going to replace them as soon as he gets the bass. I used to use LaBella and DR but most customers took them away when they got their basses... it was a shame.
I've found that, even with very different woods, the final sound is always close. Not the same, but close. I'm sure that the builder's hand affects the final sound more than the woods.
I prefer a single pickup, anyway. Less twiddling, more playing  Grin

Very cool!

The player's hands are definitely huge in the equation of tone. No doubt!

I tend to favor a single pickup on a fretless but as I do slap a lot, I enjoy a 2 pickup setup on a fretted bass.

Great stuff, man!!

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8qdiPG3ec8" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8qdiPG3ec8</a>

It's a 4 strings so I guess it's off topic  Roll Eyes

Off topic or not, that is too cool!

I love the name of that model, by the way.

What is that body wood?

It's sappy Ovangkol... goes from grey to green in some points  Afro
The bass is extremely light and compact. Not my cup of tea lookwise but I'm happy with it.  police

I like the way it looks better than the stuff that Warwick uses and I think your bass' sound is wildly better!!

Well... Warwick uses vynil glue and MEC pickups (both to save money on construction) - only these two factors widely affect the final sound of their basses. I used to love their 80s production but the actual stuff...  Lips Sealed
Anyway, glad you like the bass, Stew!  Wink

Wow, definately another masterpiece of a creation! You build some nice looking and sounding basses my friend!

The 6 string plays and sounds just as good as it looks!

Loved the 4 string model too! Thanks for posting and sharing the vids.

So far, my favorite that you have made is the 10 string fretless, next in line would be the 6 in this post.

Thanx Ron! I'm very happy to know you guys like my works.
I've played the 4 strings in a rehearsal yesterday... got lots of compliments about the sound, even with a 12" cab (my usual rig has a 18" speaker).  uglystupid2
